“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” —Melody Beattie
Being grateful each day is an integral part of the journey to abundance. In much of what I have read, making gratitude a part of your daily routine helps to move towards freedom in all areas of our lives.
Rhonda Byrne in The Secret talks about spending the time when you wake up saying thank you for all the things you are grateful for in your life, she and her team made giving thanks a daily practice. I love where Rhonda talks about really getting into the feeling and is saying Thank as she place one foot on the ground and You with the other.
William Wattles in the Science of Getting Rich states:
“There is a Law of Gratitude, and if you are to get the results you seek, it is absolutely necessary that you observe this law.”
Rebecca Fine on her Practical Genius Course based on the Science of Getting Rich, talks about three levels of Gratitude, also using the term Thank and Grow Rich:
Level 1 is circumstantial gratitude, where we say thank you when things go our way
or we get something we want.
Level 2 is in spite of gratitude, where we feel, I don’t like this, but I’m choosing to be
grateful anyway.
Level 3 is the highest level of gratitude, where we live in a continual state of thankfulness,
seeing the good (Truth) in everything and everyone continuously conscious of
the flow of that power.
This last level I believe is also where we feel that state of bliss, or as Hale Dwoskin from the Sedona Method says a state of hootlessness.
If you head over to Rebecca’s site , you can get a free e-book of the Science of Getting Rich.
Suzie, I totally agree with you about gratitude. I think it connects us with God and opens our eyes to this magnificent world.
Love your blog Suzie!
You are so right about being grateful. Changing our lives for the better all starts with expressing gratitude for what we have now, and for doing so on a daily basis.
Blessings,
Joanne

Hi Suzie,
I really am inspired by the comments of Melody Beattie. I hadn’t heard of her before now but will be visiting her site.
The way you broke down gratitude and the art of thankfulness makes it really clear how important it is to remember.
Thanks for the reminder that no matter how fast life moves and changes, we should approach thankfulness with clarity of purpose and genuineness. Phenomenal post.
Tracey
Suzie,
I agree, gratitude is the most wonderful gift. It connects us with God and allows all good to flow to us.
